ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Artificial intelligence (AI) the name itself it is telling that it is not natural but it will act as intelligent. That means human invented machine will think and create its own path. That is called Artificial intelligence. In now a days AI took very important role. It is covering all around us.
History of AI:
Talos was a giant animated bronze warrior programmed to guard the island of created by Hephaestus.
In 1950 Alan Turing published a landmark paper in which he speculated about the possibility of creating machines that think.
In 1951 Christopher Stachey wrote a checkers program and Dietrich Prinz wrote one for chess.
In 1956 John McCarthy first coined the term Artificial Intelligence at the Dartmouth conference. The birth of AI has done in this year.
In 1960 First robot was introduced to General Motors assembly line.
In 1961 the first AI catboat called ELIZA was introduced in this year.
In 1997 IBM’s Deep Blue beats world champion Garry Kasparov in the game of chess.
In 2005 Stanford Racing Team’s autonomous robotic car. Stanley wins the 2005 DARPA Grand Challenge.
In 2011 IBM’s question answering system Watson defeated the two greatest Jeopardy. Champions are Brad Rutter and Ken Jennings.
This is how AI expanded gradually into the world.
AI Covered Domains:
Demand for AI:
Here we talk over why AI has demand. It’s already completed half of the century but why it has demand now. Let us discuss about that.
The main reasons for the demand of AI are:
1. More Computational Power: AI requires a lot of computing power. Recently many advances have been made and complex deep learning modules are deployed. Another greatest technology that made this possible are GPUs. Since we have a lot of computational power now it is possible for us to implement AI in our daily aspect.
2. More Data: At present we have a lot of data. We are generating data at an immeasurable space. We are generating data through social media, devices and other. Every possible way, there’s a lot of data. So we need to find a method that can help us to process this much data and help us to derive useful insight, so that we can grow business with the help of data. This process is basically AI. In order to have a useful AI agent to make smart decisions like telling which item to choose for next when you shop online or how to classify an object from an image.AI are trained on large amount of data sets and big data enables us to do this more efficiently.
3. Better Algorithms: Right now we have very effective algorithms, which are based on the idea of neural networks. Neural network is nothing but the concept behind deep learning. Since, we have better algorithms which can do better computations and quicker computations with more accuracy, the demand for AI has increased.
4. Broad Investment: Another reason is that Universities, Governments, Start up and Tech giants are all investing in AI. Companies like Google, Amazon, Facebook and Microsoft all of those companies have heavily invested in AI. Because they believe that AI is the future. So, AI is rapidly growing both as a field of study and also as an economy. So, actually this is right time for you to understand what is AI and how it works.
What is ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE?
John McCarthy defined AI as the science and engineering of making intelligent machines. In other words, artificial intelligence is the theory and development of computer systems able to perform tasks normally requiring human intelligence, such as visual perception, speech recognition, decision-making and translation between languages. In a sense, AI is a technique of getting machines to work and behave like humans. In the recent past, AI has been able to accomplish this by creating machines and robots that have been used in wide range of fields, including health care, robotics, marketing, business analysis and many more.
AI Applications:
From the real world applications we will understand how important AI is in today’s world.
One of the most famous applications of AI is the Google predictive search engine. That means when we began typing the searching term and Google makes recommendations for us to choose from, that is artificial intelligence in action. So predictive searches are based on data, that google collect about us. Such as our browser history, our location, our age and other personnel details if needed. So by using AI, Google attempts to guess what you might be trying to find. Behind this there is a lot of natural language processing, deep learning and machine learning involved.
