How To Avoid Common Smartphone Charging Mistakes

When a smartphone is at the point in which the battery drains too fast no matter how long it’s been charged, there could be some common mistakes being made that will negatively affect the battery life, such as leaving it to charge overnight. It’s also not good to leave the phone charging while doing heavy activities like streaming your favorite NFL odds programming. The phone can overheat, which is the biggest enemy of any device’s battery.

Everyone would like their smartphone batteries to last as long as possible, and there are many ways to extend the battery, such as using apps to manage it better. The best thing is to learn how to charge your phone to get the best performance properly.

Most mobile phones use lithium-based batteries, which can last for up to two years at their top performance level but will start to lose their charging capability after that point. Even at 100% charge, it won’t offer its full power capacity. There are some other things that should be avoided when charging smartphones.

Overcharging

One of the most common mistakes people make is charging their phones overnight. Today, most phones have the technology to stop charging once the battery reaches 100%. However, the technology isn’t foolproof, and there’s still a risk of the battery overheating, which can shorten its lifespan.

Today, many smartphones also have a fast charging feature, which can charge the phone 100% in a couple of hours. However, leaving the phone plugged in beyond that will put more stress on the battery.

Charging a phone too often can also affect the battery’s life. So it’s always recommended to charge the battery to 80% and then unplug it.

It’s also best to wait until the battery level goes below 10% before charging it again. This may not always be possible but can do a lot to help prolong the battery’s health.

Using the Wrong Charger

Although it may not seem like a big problem, this is another common mistake people make. It’s very important to use the original charger that comes with the phone, as the circuits in the charger control how fast it charges and how much of a charge the battery needs.

However, it’s better to go to BetUS rather than take that risk. Using a cheaper charger that may be compatible with the device can overcharge the phone and possibly damage it while reducing the battery’s lifespan. So take extra care with the phone’s original charger to ensure a cheaper version is never needed.

Not using the proper charger can also have much worse results. For example, phones have been known to explode or catch fire while being charged with a cheap or uncertified charger. So it’s good to purchase an official charger if a second one is needed for travel or at the workplace.

Not Taking The Case Off

Smartphone cases are very effective protection to help them from getting damaged or scratched and even prevent the screen from breaking when it’s banged around or dropped. However, most people leave their cases on when charging their phones, leading to overheating as the case traps all the heat from charging inside.

Therefore, the cover should always be taken off to let all the heat dissipate and prolong the battery’s life. This will also allow the phone to be used for light activities online such as going onto BetUS at the same time.

Heavy Usage During Charging

Many people are known to play high-performance games on their phones while charging them. In a way, this makes sense in that these games use a lot of battery life and will sometimes drain it in minutes.

This activity can generate more heat than anything else and can result in severe internal damage, permanently affecting the phone’s performance. It’s also one of the fastest ways to reduce the battery’s health and ultimately shorten its life.
